It's been a very busy couple of weeks as far as Jiving is concerned.
There has been a "Meltdown" at Minstead
as well as a Jive Jukebox there
and the Pink Charity Ball at Brighton.
In addition there was a Team LeRoc Freestyle at Waterlooville,
a Jive Mad "The One" freestyle at Lugdershall, a Friday Fever at The Admiral Lord Nelson in Portsmouth
and "The Thing" freestyle at Wimborne.
Someone even took a trip up to the Ceroc Switch event at Bristol.
The midweek freestyle "Marmite Mix" at Enham-Alamein, nr Andover seems to be increasing in popularity.
Bad news for people eagerly awaiting the first Ener-Jive freestyle at Borden near the end of the month. The hall will not be ready in time so the opening freestyle has had to be moved to the last friday in October instead.
The good news is that Jive Passion are holding their first freestyle at Wincanton on Saturday 18th September and it ends at 1:00am.
Further news on the state of the Bournemouth Pavilion dancefloor. Ceroc Live held a "Big Bournemouth Bash" there which apparently hosted about 250 people. However, no-one has written a review about it but there were several reports that it was a very successful night and something had been done to the floor to make it much better for dancing. It looks like it could be worth a visit once again.
There was an interesting article in the Newspapers about what makes a good dancer although it may not be applicable to Jiving so much.
In the Jive Music section, there were some excellent new tracks posted,
some which can be played from the forum.
Finally, although not Jive, the Groove the Blues Workshop given by David and Val Rokov at the Chandlers Ford "Hilt" was an excellent experience and is highly recommended for anyone interested in learning to dance "The Blues". _________________ "We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance."
