It was a bit confusing getting to this freestyle because of the road works and diversions round Andover but arrived eventually only to find that the freestyle was being held in a different part of the building to usual. However, the new room was excellent. The dancefloor was great and it was well set up with tables and chairs. It was unfortunate that there was an England football game on at the same time because the numbers were a bit low, although there were also three other freestyles being held but apart from that, it was a good evening. I had plenty of good dances and everyone was very friendly. Dave played a great set and included several slower ones which provided a nice variety. The hot drinks and cakes were very forthcoming and good. Overall it was a good night, it was just a shame that more people hadn't torn themselves away from the telly. _________________ "We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance."

Can only agree with SJ on this. Yes, the venue had shifted (about 200yds to a different hall on the site), but the floor was quite excellent. Lots of tables and chairs, covered in sweeties. The bar was awesomely good value. I don't think that there is a cheaper one anywhere else around here. (Pint of coke, a quid; pint of squash 50p!) and there were free tea and stickies thrown in at half time as well. Dave played a great set at a variety of tempos: really really well done there. Yes it was a bit quiet, but everyone was very friendly and in qualitative terms I reckon Jive Mad delivered a peach of a freestyle. It also meant that the floor wasn't crowded and so if you wanted to dance using more space than normal you could. I certainly had a cracking time, and am already looking forward to the next one! _________________ Words are good, but hens lay eggs. |
