Another good night at Totton, dancefloor was good, plenty of dancers but also room to dance without worrying too much about collisions, a friendly crowd (including a couple of welcome surprises!) and those refreshing punnets of strawberries at half-time. The music was the usual up-beat flavour with a few slower ones thrown in which is the usual Danny mix and great to Jive to, however, and I know I'm not alone on this one, I found that several tracks selected were lacking that certain something, the "Je ne sais quoi", that element to a track that has you out of your chair and grabbing the nearest partner because you just have to dance to it. It could be that I've heard so many tracks so many times that the novelty of them has worn off but on the other hand, I could name a hundred or so tracks that still retain that magic no matter how many times I play them or dance to them. This is beginning to get rather subjective so I have started a new thread here. On the whole, though, it was a very enjoyable night at Totton and I had some great dances. _________________ "We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance."
