Organisation : Well organised with quick sign-up to membership at the door and a friendly welcome. It started at 7:30pm and ended at 11:00pm which was a bit early for me as I could have enjoyed dancing a bit longer but those were the hours for the venue.
Venue : Excellent upstairs dancefloor, brilliant to dance on and comparable to that at the Hilt. Plenty of room for dancing and ample tables and chairs. There were only a couple of fans and a couple more would have been welcome as the heat built up on the dancefloor.
Dancing : It was the first freestyle held here by the organisers and it could have done with a few more people. That said, it was very sucessful for a first night and all the dancers were very friendly and good dancers. The atmosphere was excellent and it felt more like a Jive party than a freestyle due to the general vibe.
Music : The tracks played were a mix of older and newer classic Jive tracks and the floor was kept busy all night. All the old favourites were played , some that I hadn't danced to in quite a while but they were still great to dance to.
Extras : No extras were provided but it wasn't important as the focus was on the dancing and socialising.
Any other comments : For a first effort, this was as successful as the organisers could have hoped for. As it gets known as a good night out for Jiving, I'm sure it will pull more dancers in. I'm looking forward to the next one. _________________ "We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance."
