WCS Freestyles

WCS Lesson Nights

Format similar to jive lesson night with beginners & intermediates class + freestyle time till 11:00pm.

Every Thursday 20:00 - 22:00.
Simultaneous beginners and improvers lesson, plus intermediate lesson.

Two Room/Crossover Freestyles

Verwood. Two-Tone at the Verwood Hub, the second room, Studio 100, plays mostly WCS music (plus small amount of Blues). www.ceroclive.com
2012 Dates: Jan 06, Feb 17, Mar 16, Apr 20, May 18, Jun 15, Jul 20, Aug 17, Sep 21, Oct 19, Nov 16, Dec 21.
N.B. This venue has a improver+ WCS class at around 8:15pm in the second room.


MJ Freestyles
[NB: Most MJ freestyles are unsuitable for WCS, but at some you can snatch a few dances. Hard to categorize music sometimes, but done my best. Occasional D.J. changes also affect style and amount of WCS'able music]

Port Solent. "The Late Lounge" at Portsmouth Harbour Yacht Club.
Mostly non-mainstream medium paced music, slower after midnight. Fair amount of WCS'able music, particularly after midnight.

Minstead. Twice monthly.
Both monthly Minsteads are typically mostly mainstream music, but with more variation than most freestyles. The end-of-month Minstead has half an hour of chilled tracks at the end, the mid-month Minstead has an hour of chilled tracks at the end. Usually a few tracks suitable for WCS.

Newbury. "Twisted" at the Liberty Ballroom.
Not as much variation as Minstead, but although mostly mainstream music, does have variation. Usually only a couple of WCS'able tracks before midnight, lots after.
