West Coast Swing workshop 1pm to 6pm with Olivier Massart.
Assisted by Ian Smith & Mandy Henderson.
This is a split workshop. What that means is you can choose between:
"Progressive Package" 3 hours of tuition from Beginner to Intermediate Plus with Olivier.
OR
"FUNdamentals Package"
First hour of tuition with everyone, followed by 2 hours of Beginner level tuition with Mandy & Ian.
Complimentary tea, coffee, soft drinks, biscuits & fruit
£28 per person for either package.
£50 per couple if both Smooth Jive Fusion Members AND booking as a *couple.
*Please note this is to help with equal leaders and followers
5-6pm will be freestyle/practise time as well as a chance to book a private lesson.
6-8pm is BYO Picnic/Fish and Chips time or take a break and have a meal in one of the fabulous local pubs, or just pop home for tea
Back at Bramshaw for 8PM till Midnight for a WCS freestyle.

---------------------------------
I saw Oliver teach a lot at the Rockbottoms WCS weekender in Torquay earlier this year. World class dancer (trophies galore) and really fun teacher. Last time this workshop was run, it was an excellent afternoons fun dancing/learning, and later at the freestyle we were visited by many London dancers as well as dancers travelling from Bristol, Bath, Brighton and all over. Seriously, if you are at all interested in WCS, great day. Not to be missed. _________________ My local WCS dance guide: http://www.southernjive.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=726 |

Thanks Steve
Also:
On Friday the 4th Olivier Massart is holding a Masterclass followed by a night of WCS freestyle until 1am. Olivier will be there all night dancing his socks off as a warm up to the full days event on Sat.
Quite a few will be tavelling down to make whole weekend of it
For those who want even more freestyle WCS practise...there will be plenty of opportunity in Room 100 at the next 2 Tone Event on 20th Nov.
Since being invited as a member to Global Swing DJs Ian has collected some amazing new music to try out fro both Blues & WCS.

Oliva sponatiously turned up at the London Swinvitational last weekend (all the way from Belgium).
He entered the open Jack & Jill Open competion on the spur of the moment and one the event with Amy Munster with whom he never danced before and they won the event.
Aussies....Amy and her partner Peter are also coming to the Bramshaw weekender as well as other top teachers:
Peter Flood & Eva Rosetter
Melanie Boyle & Ben Stopford
Paul Farrel & Suzi Jones
Paul Harris & Sarve Didar
Kevin Flyn & Heather
You don't even get this many top teachers attending the big weekenders
It is going to be a good one _________________ No longer on this forum, but cannot remove account. |

Nicky...you survived last weekends Swingvitational with many UK teachers and a host of US Allstar Pros.
I beleive you were competing with someone else to see who could dance with the most teachers.
The important thing to remember is that these visiting teachers are coming down to support us all because they are enthusiastic about WCS spreading around the UK and they are more than happy to dance with anyone of any level. _________________ No longer on this forum, but cannot remove account. |

Ah! Somebody else may have been under the impression that we were competing, however the only teacher who I dared to ask for a dance was Ian..... It took me until Sunday night to pluck up the courage to do that!
Seriously though, I can't wait 'til next weekend. Dancing with as many different people as possible can only help me get to grips with WCS.... Thats my theory, anyway! |
