Potentially a brilliant evening but finished early due to low numbers.
This was the first time we'd tried Roc-King Riots so we didn't know what to expect. The name made me think it might be Rock 'n' Roll orientated but not so - just pure Modern Jive which was what we were hoping.
The venue was small but had a lovely floor and for us the lack of bar was no problem - plenty of free soft drinks and free water - oh, and sweeties.
The organisers made us very welcome and clearly are happy to whatever it takes to make their customers happy - and we were!
But the best thing; the BRILLIANT thing about it was the music. I can't think of another freestyle I've been to where I have been enthused by every single track - just fantastic.
I believe this venue won't run again due to low numbers (but check with the organisers) but we will be at their Christchurch freestyles and if the music stays the same mix (and Gary the DJ assures me it will!) then it will be a venue we don't want to miss. _________________ Andy |
